On 12 June 2020, a member of staff contacted the customer once he had been referred to us by his Work Coach.
During this assessment, his experience and needs were ascertained, and a discussion was had between the tutors to create an Action Plan.
A laptop was delivered to the customer while still observing Social Distancing on 12 June 2020.
Once the tutor had gained some more information via phone and email, an updated CV and cover letters were sent to him.
The customer was registered with the career planning website and was supported through the process of using it over the phone. Upon completion, a variety of suitable of careers were suggested.
The customer decided to pursue a role working in a warehouse, so he was then added to our job mailing list to alert him to any recent vacancies. He was advised to keep a log of the jobs he had applied for and kept in contact with our tutors about his progress.
We helped him to apply for his Citizenship Card and his Work Coach supplied the funds directly to the customer. His tutor verified his ID for the process. This enabled the customer to have digital, photographic identification to use when applying for work.
We sent useful links to him so that he could open a bank account, ready for his first pay packet.
On 18 July 2020 the customer advised that had gained employment in a factory in Kirkby and would be starting a Level 1 Logistics qualification to support his role. We have supplied the IT equipment to enable him to complete the training from home.
On 24 July 2020, we donated a bike and cycle helmet to help our customer to reach his new employment and start his new life in work.
